Week of July 27, 2009 – 138 kV transmission line work is complete. The transfer of existing distribution/secondary circuit facilities to the new poles is complete.

There will be some periodic contractor work to complete transfer of DLC telecom cable and field work by the vendors (Comcast, Verizon) to transfer their existing utilities to the new poles. Upon transfer completion the old poles will be removed. Work areas are Wildwood Road, North and South Pioneer Drive, and Route 8. This distribution/secondary work will continue, and is targeted for completion around Labor Day.

Work continues on the Talleycavey Substation conversion from high side 4 kV transformers to 23 kV transformers, the low side voltage to remain same.
Week of July 20, 2009 – 138 kV transmission line work is complete. The transfer of existing distribution/secondary circuit facilities to the new poles is complete.

Week of July 13, 2009 – Work on the 138 kV transmission line is complete, as is the transfer of existing distribution and secondary circuit facilities to the new poles.

There will be some periodic contractor work to complete transfer of DLC telecom cable, as well as field work by the vendors (Comcast, Verizon) to transfer their existing utilities to the new poles.

Distribution work by DLC crews continues for Wildwood Area Improvement Phase 2. DLC is presently working in the areas of West Hardies Road and Pioneer Road. Traffic controls and flagging to be established as required.
Week of July 6, 2009 – Continue transferring existing circuits to new poles along Thompson Run Road and Peebles Road. This transfer is 90% complete and upon completion the contractor and the vendors (Comcast, Verizon, DLC Telecom) will begin transferring communication lines to the new poles for the rest of July. Traffic flagging controls to be set up along Thompson Run Road and Peebles Road as required.

An outage is planned for the morning of Monday July 6 to move the existing sectionalizer to a new pole on Thompson Run across from Cemetery near Duncan Road.

The newly commissioned Wildwood Substation now has two of the three new distribution circuits energized and carrying load. The old Wildwood Substation will be demolished and salvaged from July 8-9.
Week of June 29, 2009 – Continue transferring existing distribution circuits to new poles along Thompson Run Road. Customers to be notified by Contractor when electrical outages for individual homes/housing plans will occur. Outage is scheduled for Monday June 29 for URD Wendy View off Peebles Rd; for Thompson Run Rd / Duncan Ave on Tuesday June 30; and for Amity Drive off Thompson Run Road on Wednesday July 1. Traffic flagging controls to be set up along Thompson Run Road and Peebles Road as required.

Contractor completed the installation of the new 138 kV transmission line North Substation to new Wildwood Substation on Thursday June 11. Duquesne Light energizing the new 138 kV line on June 24th.

Week of June 22, 2009 – Continue transferring existing distribution circuits to new poles along Thompson Run Road. Customers to be notified by Contractor when electrical outages for individual homes would occur. Traffic flagging controls to be set up as required.

Duquesne Light crews are continuing distribution work on Sample Road, the Eastview Dr loop off of Sample Road, and Wildwood Road. Traffic flagging controls to be set up as required.

Contractor completed the installation of the North Substation to new Wildwood Substation on Thursday June 11. Duquesne Light is re-scheduling energizing the new 138 kV line this week, pending weather and scheduling approval with Electric Grid Coordinator and associated grid load. The storm on Wed. June 17 forced cancellation of the cut-in of new 138 kV circuit.
Week of June 15, 2009 – Continue transferring existing distribution circuits to new poles along Thompson Run Road. Customers to be notified by Contractor when electrical outages for individual homes would occur.

Duquesne Light crews are also continuing distribution work on the Eastview Drive loop off of Sample Road as well as work along Sample Road and Wildwood Road. Traffic flagging controls to be set up along Thompson Run Road, Wildwood Road, and Sample Road as required.

Contractor completed the installation of the North Substation to new Wildwood Substation on Thursday June 11. Duquesne Light crews are working within the new Wildwood Substation in preparation for energizing the new 138 kV line this week, pending scheduling approval with Electric Grid Coordinator.
Week of June 1, 2009 – Continue transferring existing distribution circuits to new poles along Thompson Run Road. Traffic flagging controls to be set up along Thompson Run Road. Customers to be notified by Contractor when electrical outages for individual homes would occur.

Contractor Henkels & McCoy, Inc. to complete setting new poles in North Park, south of Hemlock Road adjacent to Wildwood Golf Club Property. Cable Pull through North Park to the new Wildwood Substation is scheduled to start on June 4.

Duquesne Light crews to continue distribution work on the Eastview Dr. loop off of Sample Road, as well as work along Sample Road. Traffic controls will be in place as required.

Duquesne Light Co. crews are also working within the new Wildwood Substation on Venture Dr.
Week of May 18, 2009 – Set last pole within the Duquesne Light Corp. (DLC) North Substation in conjunction with Z-20 circuit outage.

Continue sag and clip work for the conductors pulled last week along Thompson Run Road, between McIntyre Road and DLC North Substation, and continue transferring existing distribution circuits to new poles along Thompson Run Road. Traffic flagging controls to be set up along Thompson Run Road.

Continue vegetation work within the North Park Right-of-Way corridor. Contractor Henkels & McCoy, Inc. to continue setting new poles in North Park.

Duquesne Light crews to continue distribution work on the Eastview Drive loop off of Sample Road as well as along Sample Road, with traffic controls in place as required.
Week of April 27, 2009 – Continue setting new transmission poles along Thompson Run Road between McIntyre Road and Duquesne Light North Substation, and transfer existing distribution circuits to new poles between Duncan Road and McIntyre Road. Traffic flagging controls to be set up along Thompson Run Road.

Continue vegetation work within the North Park Right-of-Way corridor in preparation for setting new poles.
Week of May 4, 2009 – Continue setting new transmission poles along Thompson Run Road between Sutter Road and the Duquesne Light North Substation and continue transferring existing distribution circuits to new poles along Thompson Run Road.

Dependant on weather and right-of-way agreements, the Contractor will start the wire pull between McIntyre Road and the North Substation.

Traffic flagging controls to be set up along Thompson Run Road.

Continue vegetation work within the North Park Right-of-Way corridor.

Week of April 20, 2009 – Continue setting poles along Thompson Run Road between McIntyre Rd. and Russell Rd. Finish work ("clipping") on 138 kV transmission line pulled last week between Duncan Ave and Pin Oak Dr.

Vegetation work to begin this week within the North Park Right-of-Way corridor and possibly start setting new poles.

Traffic flagging controls to be set up along Thompson Run Road between Pin Oak Dr and Russell Rd.

All work activity will depend on the weather (rain is forecasted for Monday through Wednesday, which could postpone work).
Week of April 13, 2009 – Continue setting poles along Thompson Run Road between Hazlett Road and McIntyre Road.

Complete framing of installed poles between Duncan Avenue and Hazlett Road. Start pulling new 138 kV transmission wires and shield wire between Duncan Avenue, past Hazlett Road and up to near Pin Oak Drive.

Vegetation work to begin this week within the North Park Right-of-Way corridor. Traffic flagging controls will be set up along Thompson Run Road.
Week of April 06, 2009 – Continue setting poles along Thompson Run Road between Hazlett Road and McIntyre Road. Frame in the installed poles between Duncan Avenue and Hazlett Road.

Start pulling new 138 kV transmission wires between Duncan Avenue and Hazlett Road, and finish sagging or wires along Ringeisen Road and Duncan Avenue.

Vegetation work along Wildwood Road between Wildwood Highlands and DLC Talley Cavey Substation, located less then one-eighth mile from State Route 8.
Traffic flagging will be in place along Thompson Run Road, Ringeisen Road and Duncan Avenue, and along Wildwood Road in the vegetation work area.
Week of March 30, 2009 – Continuing transfer of existing distribution circuits onto new poles at the intersection of Duncan Avenue and Thompson Run Road near Sunoco Station and Shopping Plaza Area.

Continue setting poles, flagging and work zone controls along Thompson Run Road between Hazlett Road & McIntyre Road.

Frame in set poles between Duncan Avenue and Hazlett Road and pull new conductor.

Vegetation work along Peebles Road and along Wildwood Road between Wildwood Highlands and Duquesne Light Company Talley Cavey Substation located less then one-eighth mile from State Route 8. Flagging will be in place on Peebles and Wildwood Rd during vegetation work.
Week of March 23, 2009 – Continue the transfer of existing distribution circuits onto new poles at the intersection of Duncan Avenue and Thompson Run Road in the Sunoco Station and Shopping Plaza Area.

Continue setting poles, flagging and work zone controls along Thompson Run Road between Duncan Avenue and Hazlett Road. The contractor may start pulling conductor between Duncan Avenue and Hazlett Road depending on the pole setting progress.

Vegetation work will continue along Wildwood Road between Wildwood Highlands and Duquesne Light Corporation Talley Cavey Substation which is located less then one-eighth mile from State Route 8. Flagging along this stretch of Wildwood Road will be in place.
Week of March 16, 2009 – Construction work zone flagging to be set up along Ringeisen Road for a guy anchor installation and conductor pull from the midpoint of Ringeisen Road to the transmission pole adjacent to Sunoco Station at the intersection of Duncan Ave and Thompson Run Road.

Continue setting poles, flagging, and work zone controls along Thompson Run Road between Duncan Avenue & Hazlett Road.

Vegetation work to continue along Wildwood Road between Wildwood Highlands and the Duquesne Light Company Talley Cavey Substation, located less than one-eighth mile from State Route 8. Flagging along this stretch of Wildwood Road will remain in place.
Week of March 9, 2009 – Set a new pole near intersection of Ringeisen Road and Duncan Avenue.

Construction work zone flagging to be set up along Peebles Road & Ringeisen Road for the conductor pull down on the Duquesne Light Company (DLC) right-of-way through Collington Square between Peebles Road & Sample Road, across Sample Road, and then along Ringeisen Road terminating at the Sunoco station.

Start setting poles with flagging and work zone controls along Thompson Run Road between Duncan Ave & Hazlett Road, adjacent to Allegheny County Memorial Park Cemetery.

Vegetation work will continue along Wildwood Road between Wildwood Highlands and the DLC Talley Cavey Substation which is located less than one-eighth mile from State Route 8. Flagging will be in place along this stretch of Wildwood Road.
Week of March 2, 2009 – Finish the clip-in of conductors along Peebles Road between Sample Road and Wendy View Drive side streets. Construction work zone flagging will be set up along Peebles Road.

Vegetation work was completed along Thompson Run Road last week and vegetation work will start along Wildwood Road this week between Wildwood Highlands and Duquesne Light Corporation Talley Cavey Substation, located less than one eighth mile from State Route 8. Flagging along this stretch of Wildwood Road will be put in place.

Will set the last two poles along Ringeisen Road and start the conductor pull along Ringeisen Road this Thursday.
Week of February 23, 2009 – Finish the cable pull from Shady Oak right-of-way to a pole along Peebles Road between Sample Road & Wendy View Drive side streets. Construction work zone flagging to be set up along Peebles Road as well as along Thompson Run Road between McIntyre Road & Sutter Road for vegetation work.

Set poles in the Collington Square area right-of-way between Peebles Road and Ringeisen Road.

Work progress last week was hindered by overtime storm duty and rain/snow weather.
Week of February 16, 2009 – Complete the cable pull from Shady Oak right-of-way to a pole along Peebles Road between Sample Road and Wendyview Drive. Construction work zone flagging to be set up along Peebles Road as well as along Thompson Run Road between McIntyre Road and Sutter Road for vegetation work.

Contractor to set poles in the Collington Square area right-of-way between Peebles Road and Ringeisen Road.

Contractor to receive a North Pacific Co. pole delivery totaling 57 poles from a rail siding in Glenshaw.
Week of February 9, 2009 – Set an 80-foot pole on the hillside along Peebles Road and framed in three poles along the Shady Oak area right-of-way. This is in preparation for the first cable pull from Shady Oak to a pole along Peebles Road located between Sample Road & Wendyview Drive.

Set poles in the Collington Square area right-of-way between Pebbles Road and Ringeisen Road.
Week of February 2, 2009 – No construction work this week as the DLC Contractor (Henkels & McCoy) is in Kentucky all week to assist with emergency Storm Duty.
Week of January 26, 2009 – Contractor plans to continue setting new poles in the Shady Oak area. Vegetation-related pruning work to continue along Peebles Road, Shady Oak, and Thompson Run Road. Work plan calls for pulling a section of overhead cable from the Shady Oak area and along a portion of Peebles Road near Wendyview Dr.
Week of January 19, 2009 – Contractor to continue setting new poles along Peebles Road, Ringeisen Road, and Shady Oak. Vegetation-related pruning work to continue along Peebles Road, Shady Oak, and Thompson Run Road. Traffic controls and flagging will be established for construction and public safety.
Week of January 12, 2009 – Contractor to start setting new poles along Peebles Road and Ringeisen Road. Vegetation-related pruning work to resume in the areas of Peebles Road and Shady Oak.
Week of January 5, 2009 – Contractor to set new poles around Venture Dr in the vicinity of the new Wildwood Substation, and begin spreading phases and setting new poles along Peebles Road.
Week of December 29, 2008 – Contractor to continue as practical the setting of poles near the Wildwood Substation area and/or in right-of-way between Wildwood Highlands and North Park.
Week of December 22, 2008 – Vegetation work along Peebles Road and Ringeisen Road has been postponed for the remainder of December (DLC to finish some tree work resulting from high winds over the weekend, as well as some end of year maintenance work). Weather permitting (and sufficient staffing over the Holidays), Contractor will begin setting some poles near the Wildwood Substation area and/or in right-of-way between Wildwood Highlands and North Park.
Week of December 15, 2008 – Continue working along Peebles Road, and start vegetation work along Ringeisen Road.
Week of December 8, 2008 – Commence vegetation work along Peebles Road towards Hemlock Dr. Construction Contractor retained by Duquesne Light (Henkels & McCoy) to mobilize new poles and construction vehicles/trailer at an approved site along Wildwood Road.
Week of December 1, 2008 – Finish vegetation work in the right-of-way between Sample Road and Pebbles Road (Collington Square).
Week of November 24, 2008 – Vegetation work to start in the right-of-way hillside between Sample Road and Peebles Road.
Week of November 17, 2008 – Vegetation work continuing along Thompson Run Road, between McIntyre Road and Hazlett Road.
Week of November 10, 2008 – Duquesne Light Subcontractor (Asplundh Tree) continuing vegetation work along Thompson Run Road, between Hazlett Road and Duncan Ave.
Week of November 3, 2008 – Vegetation work continuing along Thompson Run Road. Also, a crew has started work around the Duquesne Light Wildwood Substation (Wildwood Road) and the right-of-way around Wildwood Highlands and up to the edge of North Park property.
Week of October 27, 2008 – Duquesne Light to authorize its Subcontractor- (Asplundh Tree) to have tree crews begin vegetation work along Thompson Run Road, starting between Sutter Road and McIntyre Road. Flagging personnel will be utilized for safe traffic control as required throughout the vegetation and construction-related work.
Week of September 15, 2008 – Duquesne Light Vegetation Group representatives will begin door-to-door contact with customers along the route of the new transmission line. Duquesne Light to follow up with customers who have responded to vegetation “door hanger” notices to discuss any specific vegetation matters, right-of-way issues, and general construction questions.
