Week of July 27, 2009 138 kV transmission line work is complete. The transfer of existing distribution/secondary circuit facilities to the new poles is complete.
There will be some periodic contractor work to complete transfer of DLC telecom cable and field work by the vendors (Comcast, Verizon) to transfer their existing utilities to the new poles. Upon transfer completion the old poles will be removed. Work areas are Wildwood Road, North and South Pioneer Drive, and Route 8. This distribution/secondary work will continue, and is targeted for completion around Labor Day.
Work continues on the Talleycavey Substation conversion from high side 4 kV transformers to 23 kV transformers, the low side voltage to remain same.

Week of July 13, 2009 Work on the 138 kV transmission line is complete, as is the transfer of existing distribution and secondary circuit facilities to the new poles.

Distribution work by DLC crews continues for Wildwood Area Improvement Phase 2. DLC is presently working in the areas of West Hardies Road and Pioneer Road. Traffic controls and flagging to be established as required.
Week of July 6, 2009 Continue transferring existing circuits to new poles along Thompson Run Road and Peebles Road. This transfer is 90% complete and upon completion the contractor and the vendors (Comcast, Verizon, DLC Telecom) will begin transferring communication lines to the new poles for the rest of July. Traffic flagging controls to be set up along Thompson Run Road and Peebles Road as required.
An outage is planned for the morning of Monday July 6 to move the existing sectionalizer to a new pole on Thompson Run across from Cemetery near Duncan Road.
The newly commissioned Wildwood Substation now has two of the three new distribution circuits energized and carrying load. The old Wildwood Substation will be demolished and salvaged from July 8-9.
Week of June 29, 2009 Continue transferring existing distribution circuits to new poles along Thompson Run Road. Customers to be notified by Contractor when electrical outages for individual homes/housing plans will occur. Outage is scheduled for Monday June 29 for URD Wendy View off Peebles Rd; for Thompson Run Rd / Duncan Ave on Tuesday June 30; and for Amity Drive off Thompson Run Road on Wednesday July 1. Traffic flagging controls to be set up along Thompson Run Road and Peebles Road as required.
Contractor completed the installation of the new 138 kV transmission line North Substation to new Wildwood Substation on Thursday June 11. Duquesne Light energizing the new 138 kV line on June 24th.
Week of June 22, 2009 Continue transferring existing distribution circuits to new poles along Thompson Run Road. Customers to be notified by Contractor when electrical outages for individual homes would occur. Traffic flagging controls to be set up as required.
Duquesne Light crews are continuing distribution work on Sample Road, the Eastview Dr loop off of Sample Road, and Wildwood Road. Traffic flagging controls to be set up as required.
Contractor completed the installation of the North Substation to new Wildwood Substation on Thursday June 11. Duquesne Light is re-scheduling energizing the new 138 kV line this week, pending weather and scheduling approval with Electric Grid Coordinator and associated grid load. The storm on Wed. June 17 forced cancellation of the cut-in of new 138 kV circuit.

Duquesne Light crews are also continuing distribution work on the Eastview Drive loop off of Sample Road as well as work along Sample Road and Wildwood Road. Traffic flagging controls to be set up along Thompson Run Road, Wildwood Road, and Sample Road as required.

Contractor Henkels & McCoy, Inc. to complete setting new poles in North Park, south of Hemlock Road adjacent to Wildwood Golf Club Property. Cable Pull through North Park to the new Wildwood Substation is scheduled to start on June 4.
Duquesne Light crews to continue distribution work on the Eastview Dr. loop off of Sample Road, as well as work along Sample Road. Traffic controls will be in place as required.
Duquesne Light Co. crews are also working within the new Wildwood Substation on Venture Dr.
Week of May 18, 2009 Set last pole within the Duquesne Light Corp. (DLC) North Substation in conjunction with Z-20 circuit outage.
Continue sag and clip work for the conductors pulled last week along Thompson Run Road, between McIntyre Road and DLC North Substation, and continue transferring existing distribution circuits to new poles along Thompson Run Road. Traffic flagging controls to be set up along Thompson Run Road.
Continue vegetation work within the North Park Right-of-Way corridor. Contractor Henkels & McCoy, Inc. to continue setting new poles in North Park.
Duquesne Light crews to continue distribution work on the Eastview Drive loop off of Sample Road as well as along Sample Road, with traffic controls in place as required.

Dependant on weather and right-of-way agreements, the Contractor will start the wire pull between McIntyre Road and the North Substation.
Traffic flagging controls to be set up along Thompson Run Road.

Week of April 20, 2009 Continue setting poles along Thompson Run Road between McIntyre Rd. and Russell Rd. Finish work ("clipping") on 138 kV transmission line pulled last week between Duncan Ave and Pin Oak Dr.
Vegetation work to begin this week within the North Park Right-of-Way corridor and possibly start setting new poles.
Traffic flagging controls to be set up along Thompson Run Road between Pin Oak Dr and Russell Rd.
All work activity will depend on the weather (rain is forecasted for Monday through Wednesday, which could postpone work).
Week of April 13, 2009 Continue setting poles along Thompson Run Road between Hazlett Road and McIntyre Road.
Complete framing of installed poles between Duncan Avenue and Hazlett Road. Start pulling new 138 kV transmission wires and shield wire between Duncan Avenue, past Hazlett Road and up to near Pin Oak Drive.
Vegetation work to begin this week within the North Park Right-of-Way corridor. Traffic flagging controls will be set up along Thompson Run Road.
Week of April 06, 2009 Continue setting poles along Thompson Run Road between Hazlett Road and McIntyre Road. Frame in the installed poles between Duncan Avenue and Hazlett Road.
Start pulling new 138 kV transmission wires between Duncan Avenue and Hazlett Road, and finish sagging or wires along Ringeisen Road and Duncan Avenue.
Vegetation work along Wildwood Road between Wildwood Highlands and DLC Talley Cavey Substation, located less then one-eighth mile from State Route 8.
Traffic flagging will be in place along Thompson Run Road, Ringeisen Road and Duncan Avenue, and along Wildwood Road in the vegetation work area.
